NAMI Greater Boston CAN is a grassroots organization of people with lived experience of mental health conditions. We are an affiliate of NAMI-Mass (National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts). We are dedicated to eliminating the suffering caused by mental illness, and to ending the stigma and prejudice experienced by our peers.
We provide support, education, and advocacy for and by people in recovery. NAMI is known as the "Nation's Voice on Mental Illness" and we at GB-CAN believe that voice must be recovery-oriented and value the lived experiences of consumers. You can reach our office by calling: (617) 305-9975.

We are meeting at Mary Chungs Restaurant in Central Square Cambridge at 11:30am Saturday (pay for your own food). Then at 1:30pm we'll meet at the Dunkin Dounts at the Boylston Street green line. GB CAN will pay for movie at nearby AMC Loews Boston Common theatre. It should be a fun day!
Our helpful GB CAN Webmaster, Todd Lena, is inviting everyone in our community to join us for a wonderful celebration this Fall. Rock Into Recovery will be an occasion with live music, food and fun for everyone involved in recovery including Peers, friends, professionals and family. This will be the first inaugural and event of its kind for greater Boston and we are grateful to be sponsored by The Edinburg Center. The Disabilty Law Center is partly funded by the Federal Government
to be the protection and advocacy agency for Massachusetts.
Annually, the DLC asks for input into their priorities. As activists in the peer
community we want to hear your ideas on what the priorities should .

• Vinfen's Cambridge/Somerville Recovery Learning Center
NAMI GB CAN office is located at the Boston Resource Center and is part of the Metro Boston
Recovery Learning Community. We now offer a warmline
(peer-listening line) for peers and consumers who need someone to talk to.
What We Do: Advocacy with agencies, legislatures, and policiy makers is an important part of our work.
We aim to:
• Promote the very real possibility of recovery from mental illness for everyone.
• Reduce Stigma of mental illness.
• Improve quality & access to health care.
• Eliminate the use of restrain and seclusion of patients rights.
• Support veteran's recovery.
Two Hats is a networking dinner for people who are now working or are interested in working in peer support. Two Hats meets every second Thursday at 6PM at the Mary Chung's Restaurant, 464 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA. For more info go to www.twohats.org.
