We are a grassroots organization of people with lived experience of mental health conditions. We are an affiliate of NAMI-MASS (National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts). We are dedicated to eliminating the suffering caused by mental illness, and ending the stigma and descrimination experienced by our fellow peers. At NAMI GB CAN we provide support, education, and advocacy for and by people in recovery. • SAMHSA recently announced a working definition of Recovery. A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life and strive to reach their full potential. • Next NAMI GB CAN Affiliate Meeting is on Thursday February 16th, 2012 at Center Club 6:30 PM start. While the dinner was originally for peers working and wanting to work in human services, it is now open to all. Parking at nearby meters is free after 6pm.
